Most of us here are familiar with the term "EPAK". Well, there have to be some like me who feel a little alienated. So, I've come up with "P-MAK" to help describe how some of us do our Kenpo. "P-MAK" is nothing more than Parker-Mills American Kenpo. The Mills Family Group have worked diligently to not only preserve SGM Parker's teachings, but also expound upon them as well.

i dont think he'd have to worry about that. i mean hes not making money or anything off of it, he's not misrepresenting what it is, or who its about by the name, making no claims about it beyond the obvious, and certainly not registering the term

hey guys, lets all try and annoy Mr. Chap'el and start calling Sublevel 4, "P-CAK", since some ppl get a little huffy by the term "motion kenpo"

eventually we're going to run out of letters so we may have to use numbers so something like "P-P1AK" for Mr Planas's line, and "P-P2AK" for Mr. Palanzo for example. but i think thats getting a little carried away with the idea :-p

I admire your passion, loyalty, dedication, and imagination.

Many groups and/or organizations feel the same in regards to preserving and evolving the art according to the teachings of SGM Ed Parker.

Mr. Mills insights and contributions are very much respected by many kenpoist outside of the AKKI, so you shouldn't feel alienated in the least.

Likewise, so are the contributions of many other seniors and organizational heads. In the grand scheme of things, what you choose to call yourself has little impact when compared to what you actually do.

Mr. Mills and the AKKI are respected because accomplished practicioners of the art can "see" he knows his stuff and recognize his contributions. We can also see that AKKI members are knowledgable as well and that reflects well on the organization which holds true for all of them actually, EPAK included.

Trust me, brother. You don't need any new titles or names to validate your or your organization in relation to SGM Ed Parker. Kenpoist do thier "talking" on the mats! Acknowledging you're a member of the AKKI says enough.

No one needs to worry about copyright or legalities or new names. This is just Mike branding himself. The AKKI is not changing any name or anything like it nor adopting in anyway Mike's suggestion of "P-MAK." Nor does the AKKI endorse any such club or name/name change. This is just him naming his own made up club.

Good point. I would like to make it known that I'm not speaking for

anyone else other than the devil on my left shoulder. The AKKI is where I

get my Kenpo from, and will be what I pass along. "PMAK" is something I

hope will direct people to the AKKI.

I find it funny how we've reached the point where people lose their minds because they sense even the slightest perceived political statement in any flippant remarks made...This is how politics makes mountains out of molehills, and if there is a martial system that needs to NOT raise any more mountains to climb, it's Kenpo...
    C'mon people, let's lighten up!
Let's drop the politics and get on with it!
