    Angry A little fraud, perhaps?

    A little fraud, perhaps?
Link to AKKI patch auction on eBay

    From mr.embroidery's eBay auction:

New, unsewn, perfect in every way. How awesome will these patches look on your uniform, or in your collection? This is the original way the universal wheel looked back when parker headed the AKKI, before the IKKA.* Very rare, only found here, through me.* Shipping set at $1 for as many sets as you choose to buy.* Immediate paypal payment required on this item. Thanks for looking, and happy bidding.

Is it just me, or is this a little shady?

    I smell a rat...

Perhaps someone should let GM Mills know that his association rockers are being sold on eBay by someone who claims that only s/he is the one who is able to supply them.

....uh...When did SGM Parker head the AKKI? I'll never understand why people do some of the things they do.

W.T.F.?! Mr. Mills started the AKKI years after SGM Parker's death. Where is this guy from?

Scary thing is this guy may actually believe this! That would mean somebody they trust gave them this information.... And how many people that don't know better have seen this auction? It's no wonder misinformation like this spreads like a bad fungus.

    At least it's a really nice-looking patch.

This guy did the same thing with Larry Tatum's big dragon patch that Jorn Brandt designed.

He copied a photo of it and now sells a "fake" copy of the patch. This one is much smaller and not as nice as the original.

Looks more like a Celtic knot than a Universal Pattern...

That is the Universal Patch of the AKKI, or at least a good copy.

Now that is a nice patch! Does Larry sell that patch on his own website?

Nope but if you call him you can buy one, his are much nicer and about 14" long. I got a school charter from him about 3 years ago and got one around that time. Beautiful patch.

Just who is this "patch pirate" anyway?

That patch is not an AKKI anything.

Couldn't that be considered some form of copyright infringement? Copying and sellling "knock-offs" of organizations patches?

It is, but it's hard to control. I bought a set of Larry Tatum's kata tapes off of ebay. I didn't know until I got them that they were duplicates.

I emailed Larry and told him and gave him the link.

I haven't seen the guy selling them since, but I don't know if that's because of anything Larry said or not.

Whoever is in charge of AKKI should send the guy a threatening email and see what happens.
