    Default favorite "phrase"?

just curious.. i know we work with some different phrases of motion than most other Kenpo groups.. but what are some of your all's personal favorite? either AKKI or whatever

mine is the application of the 3 beat in thrusting devistation/divided fury.. and the sweep, elbow, chop part of avenging pendulum.

    I'm thinking I don't entirely understand what you're asking.

    Can you clarify please?

Still not following, but maybe we use different terminology for what you're asking.

Are you talking about certain motions within techniques?

im not quite sure whats wrong.. i keep trying to explain what i was talking about and it keeps saying i need to log back in.. then when im done that the link i was following was invalid..

Phrases are what i call little bits of techniques.. have you ever unintentionally grafted some moves (maybe 2 or 3) from one similar technique into a technique you were working on? just muscle reflex? that was a phrase from another technique..

i had an example but iv written it twice, im not writing it again tonight.. but if you want i can explain in further detail later.. in essence.. its a mixture of the alphabet of motion, and the equation formula..

Today one of our students kept doing Flashing Swords in response to the attack of Eye of the Storm...which you could do-even though you'd give up your left positional check on their club hand.

true.. youd only give it up for the moment you heel palm.. since you have that left check from the initial right block, just raise it a bit.., as well as after the heel palm.. hell you could alter the left hand's check after the HP into a grab at the club hand while you settle with the handsword.. kind of like the grab in B1a

Front crossover punch, knee to inner thigh, front plant with a rising forearm strike.

I love the rising forearm strike.

By 'phrase', it's meant more like what combination of movements do you favor.

There's another thread about what your favorite sayings are.

Oh, duh! I am an idiot. Anyhoo, I like the technique Triggered Devastation where after you do the elbow smash, you do the back knuckle and heel palm at the sametime and then followed by the thrusting forearm to the neck.

Would you write out that technique somewhere so we can see what it is? It's not a traditional epak one, so we aren't getting your full meaning.

(By 'we', I mean me and the voices in my head.)

I seem to be unable to do the tech five swords with out adding an elbow to the face at the end. Just a habit I seem to have picked up

Before I learned the extension, I tended to add Hammerfist, front cross out, cross back in with a rearkick. Love those rearkicks.

And scoop kicks on the way out. I frequently add a scoop kick as part of my crossouts.

I like that one, Divided Fury, and Rising Thunder. They are just evil. I love those timing patterns.
