There was some discussion about this here: I couldn't leave this one alone

I've been looking at the differences between EPAK and Tracys deciding which I'd like to get into but I may have found a better way. Amazingly enough I saw an ad on ebay for native kenpo:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Kenpo-DVD-Techni...QQcmdZViewItem
Now the best part is this: "When you win the bid, send at extra $1000 for your 1st degree black belt certificiate. No video test is necessary. Order NOW!!!"
This has got to be legit right? Damn my font is now like his...I feel like selling something. ORDER NOW!!! Supplies limited!
Any feedback here?

I'm assuming you are being sarcastic about actually thinking about taking this course.
But what the hell, a $1000 is pretty cheap for a black belt, and you won't even have to break a sweat.

the saddest part is, he's probably sold a few. i'm blown away by what people have the audacity to sell, especially with the anonymity that the internet affords them. shameless.

I hate to come off as "bashing" but it is absolutely absurd to mail someone a black belt and a certificate assuming they will learn the material and be able to effectively execute it without the instructor ever "seeing" them in any capacity what-so-ever.
Having said that, If you're just after a black belt you'd come out cheaper buying one from century as stated.....and you'd know about as much kenpo.![]()

If you just want a Black Belt, then go to the Martial arts store and buy one. A lot cheaper and no hassle or study required. Buy a Gi too. Look authentic.

Isn't this the same guy that developed his own style and wears the fancy native american outfits with his black belt?
And I didn't know that the SPEAR was a weapon of kenpo... cool!![]()

Its funny that in the EBAY article it states he is an "8th degree" but wears the Kenpo 10th grandmaster belt! Oh well, anything for money. I think the only thing that tapes are good for is review. NOTHING replaces having "qualified" kenpo instructors helping you with each little part of a technique or form as well as "live" kenpo students to practice with and work out with. Thank you, but no thanks! I will take my black belt when I EARN IT!!!!!!
To sum up my feelingings on the subject....
It's obviously.......
...and has a negative affect on kenpo in general....

Run and don't look back. That's a fat ring he's got on his finger. It's probably not to hard to figure out how he paid for it.
Be careful what you say, some may take it the wrong way.

A while back he had an EBay auction where you could namea technique. He'd invent a technique, you'd name it and it would be yours forever.
