    Default SW Michagander

I'm a 1st Blackbelt from a style called White Tiger Kenpo that I learned while I was in St. Louis. Now I am currently in Southwestern Michigan with nothing but UiechiRyu People around.

Putting out a big hello to one and all.

I'm honored to be here. It's absolutely amazing how much the internet is helping out the world of Kenpo with the info that is available to one's fingertips. Greetings back to each and everyone of you.

White Tiger Kenpo comes down from one of John McSweeney's students who's name is Tom Saviano. My Sifu was a man by the name of Dan Farmer of Wentzville Missouri. White Tiger has most of the same katas forms and movements as Ed Parkers American Kenpo but the main difference that I can see is the fact the we use mainly kicks and knees for anything at waist level down. Very seldom do we use a kick that is above the waist but it does happen. We do alot of nerve points, chin na and circular movements too. I hope this helps somewhat.

Looking forward to expanding my horizons through this site.

Him and I chated at great length last year after the incident. Let him know I say hi.

Kaptain Krusty is about as good as they come! I drove out to spend the weekend with him once and my daughter took to him and Jo like she was born on Farmer Mountain hahaha.

You have a very good instructor who is one hell of a guy!

This is just way too good. Just goes to show you, Kenpo is a way of life and just one step out your door leads you to another brothers door. Life is good.

I'm actually a Teen Sunday School teacher and a Teen Leader at my church but I got the nickname by being very "learned" in "stuff" and not being scared to preach about said subject. Hence, preach it Preacherman.

And I'm very close to doing said backyard teaching, just a little worried about getting warmed back up without marring Sifu's good name.

Dan doesn't post much these days, it seems to me that started about the time he had disagreement with his organization.
Just because you do something one way, does not mean that everyone else does it that way, or that it is even the correct way.

He's a good man with a very big heart. I've never seen him do anything in a mean spirit. But if you get shot you get gun shy. Maybe he's just doesn't want to step on any toes. I'm hoping to have alot more conversations with him and see if he'll give us some of his experience.

Okay, I know this is an old thread, but I just found it. I do not know of anyone that teaches Saviano's White Tiger Kenpo in ST. Louis. It may be another system using the same name so that would be outside the McSweeney/Saviano lineage.

Anyways, you can see the black belt list of Saviano's here. I have heard of Dan Farmer and seen his posts in the past on KenpoNet. I had thought he was either EPAK or Tracy Kenpo practitioner.
God gave us 2 ears and 1 mouth so we can listen twice as much as we speak.
Unfortunantly, he gave us 2 eyes and 10 fingers, which explains the problems we get on the internet.~Zoran
