    Default Jeff Schmidt

    Hey everyone!

I've been browsing this forum for a while now, decided it was finally time to join up and see if I have anything to contribute.

Currently I'm a brown belt under Mr. Neil MacGillivray, instructor for Karate for Christ in Cambridge, Ontario Canada. I've had the opportunity to do seminars with Mr. Jamie Seabrook, a regular of this forum and an awesome instructor, as well as with Al Tracy, which was a great honour.

I'm finishing my 4th year of a Concurrent Education program at Wilfrid Laurier and Nipissing Universities. I'll graduate next year with an Honours B.A. with a double major in Contemporary Studies and History and a B.Ed.. After that I hope to make a career teaching high school history and phys. ed. here in Ontario.

I absolutely love kenpo! I got a brown belt in Goju-Ryu karate before switching to kenpo, and the style just speaks to me so much more. The scientific principles, the analytical nature, the room for improvisation and customization, all of these things make kenpo an amazing art form. I'm still pretty new and probably won't have as much to contribute as many of you, but I'm thirsty for all the knowledge you can share.

    God bless you all!
    -Jeff Schmidt

Welcome to KT . You probably fired a warning shot across a couple of bows with the " improvisation " line .

Welcome to KenpoTalk. I have been a little inactive lately. You seem to be living in an area with some really great Kenpo instructors. Take advantage of it. Go to as many seminars with Jamie as possible. you can only get better.
