It was suggested that I introduce myself on this forum. I just began taking Kenpo classes February of 2006. Got my yellow belt about a month ago.
I am a pastor and we began the class as an outreach of our church. OUr teacher is a member of our church and trained under Asa Rainey.
I personally am taking the class as a means to exercise and slow down a developing heart condition.

BROTHER! Good to have you aboard. We have common roots. I am the associate pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church - check us out! As a matter of fact, my younger brother graduated from HBBC a couple years ago.
Hope you enjoy Kenpo...

Welcome aboard Marvin~san...
Would you be training with Mr Todd Durgen, by chance? Either way, I have a former student in your area (more or less) who is desperately seeking a kenpo class. I gave him Todd's name, as last I knew he was in your area, but he's had no luck tracking him down. If you could relay any contact information, it would be greatly appreciated.

I know Mr Durgan's name from my teacher, Wade Davis. They were present when they each received their black belts from Mr. Rainey.
Our program is held in our church building Saturday and Monday nights.
I know my teacher know's how to get in touch with Mr. Durgan. They designed the patch for our class at Mr. Durgan's home. I will try to remember to ask him for the contact info.

Many thanks. I'm not sure I know Mr Davis? Are your classes open to the public? If so, I have no qualms about sending him and his son your way either. I respect Asa's abilities as a teacher and doubt that I would be going wrong steering them to any of his blackbelts.

Yes they are open to all; depending on room. Right now there is enough room for a few more, I think especially on Monday nights.
