    Default Greetings and Salutations

After a two year hiatus, I am finally able to return to Kenpo. Driving truck and becoming the proud father of two children has not been....complimentary, to upkeeping with my training. I know that I have a long uphill battle to bring myself back to anywhere near the shape I was in before but, I have always liked a challenge.

On an odd note, my old instructor isn't teaching anymore (physical injury) so, I will be training under his son (who wasn't even interested in training when I started all those years ago. Isn't life ironic?

Two years? Easy to overcome. I've done that before. It takes about a year to get up to snuff.

    You'll be great.

I am shooting for about eight months to get myself back to where I was. I know that I have slowed way down, my flexibility is how do say it....non-existent. My core muscles still have their strength (work took care of that). My body is a little older now (reality) but, I am a little smarter about how I train (experience).

He has been forced to take over for his father for a temporary time. In other words until the doctor says he can teach again. There is five of us total in the school and he does out rank me. The guy just lives and breathes kenpo. He trains daily about the same time I spend at work. In other words, a lot. He is awesome to watch and teaches almost as good as his father (experience will improve that). The hope is that his father will be able to return in a couple months but, we will just have to see.
