    Default Hello Brothers and Sisters

Had to use that line in the title. I did a reading at my friends wedding over the weekend and that was the first line in the reading. My friends and i couldnt stop laughing about how i was going to actually pronunciate up there on the alter and it almost came out like it would at Southern Baptist church. It was real close that i almost starting laughing there at the podium. Just wanted to say hi and that i am new here. Trying to learn as much as i can and without being a member i can't ask the questions that i have.
1st one -- why is there no spell check on this one. I just had to write 2 words that i dont think i have written since i was in college.
    oh well

Tell us a little about yourself. How long in Kenpo? Which style of kenpo? What school do you go to?

    Etc.

    Welcome aboard.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I hope you didnt take offense to the southern Baptist thing, but thats exactly how i felt, and i am still smirking about it now. I told my friend who is a southern baptist minster in New Hampshire (go figure) and he was laughing right along side me.
I have been in Kempo for 18 years. I started in Shaolin and still teach it. My original instructor who I travel to see in NY every other month to train with has switched to Karazenpo, which is almost the same style with adjustments. I also train with Prof. Kimo Ferreira and was ranked by him last year. I try to learn as much as i can because it will only make myself and my students better.
-- so are there any others out there in my style?
    In Peace

Howdy sir! 18 years is a good run you got me by a few... When you say Shaolin kempo do you mean Castro, or Villari or other? Professor Joe Shuras I think is on here (mostly on Martial Talk though) he is from GM Gascon's association Karazenpo Go-Shin-Jitsu-Kai Black Belt Society)I hope I got that right... Is that the Karazenpo lineage you are from?

Anyhow, welcome to MT and we look forward to learning from ya!

    Cheers!

The above is just my opinion.

Yes I am in the same lineage as Prof. Shuras. Not as much time in, but similiar backgrounds. Our students competed against each other at a few of GM Pesare's "Best of the Best" tournaments. His school is not to far away from mine. Prof. Shuras in now in a way i guess the spokesperson/ or person in charge of GM Gascon's system now while Prof. Rash clears ups some personal matters.
