    Default Wrist Grab Techniques

Has anyone noticed that with the exception of Twisting Talon in Yellow Belt, ALL the wrist grab techniques in the Tracy System work against a double wrist grab with NO MODIFICATION?

I had never really noticed before, but it does bring up some ideas for some experimentation.

And why couldn't you do Twisting Talon against a double wrist grab ..... hmmmm unless you are talking about both of your wrists being grabbed ... If the opponent is grabbing you with both of his hands against one of your wrists then it would work as well.

Yes, I am speaking of both your wrists being grabbed. Great to see you here, Mr. Munk!

I have noticed that the two man wrist grab techniques work whether it is one hand or both grabbing the wrist. I have also noticed that the single wrist grab techniques will work whether it is one hand or two grabbing you. I have also noticed that amny of these techniques could be grafted into each other.

If you were to graft a wrist grab technique into another technique what would it be.

One of the things that I like about our wrist release/escapes is that they work with little modification for when your baton is grabbed.

I don't care how you grab my baton, one hand, two hands...does not matter. I can free it using a recognizable kenpo wrist release technique.

Jim I ran into that all the time when I was in the training unit at our regional academy. They hated when I attented classes in defensive tactics. I'd always use something from Kenpo instead of what they were showing and always got the reaction of .. "You can't do that!" to which I always replied you're right I know. hehehe

With little of no modification a lot of Kenpo can be used for things like that.

    Definitely!

BTW, nice to see BOTH of you esteemed seniors (Pat and Jim) over here. I don't have to be the Lone Ranger anymore!
