Default Ever think about being a moderator?

    Well, here's your chance.

I'm looking for several individuals to help kick things into high gear.

    Here's what I'm looking for:

    - Regular visitors: If you can't commit to visiting 4-6 times a week, being a moderator isn't for you.

    - Regular poster: I'm looking for someone who can commit to not only visiting regularly, but also making 20+ posts a week at the minimum. I don't mean just little "bumps", but quality posts.

    - Positive Attitude: If all you can do is complain, put down, and have 'pity parties', or 'Im an expert' fests, you probably aren't a good candidate.

A good idea would be to review this thread at MartialTalk. It outlines much of the type of person I'm looking for here.

    - A good track record
Banned from any of the sites in the MT Network? Got more suspensions here than you can keep track of? You're probably not a good fit for the KT Team then.

If you are interested, please PM me, and tell me why you would be a good addition to our team. I also want to know where you feel you would make the best impact to the site.

All areas are available, however preference will be given to those choosing areas without moderators.

This site has the potential to rival MartialTalk and other leading forums. But, I can't do it myself. I need a good team. We have a good team already, however, we aren't a complete team yet.

Lets complete the team and see just how far we can take this thing running at full tilt!

    Who's with me?

With the growth of KenpoTalk we are again looking for moderators. If you are interested in becoming a moderator please contact a staff member.

There are a couple simple qualifiers to becomeing a moderator.

    1. You must have atleast 500 posts
    2. You must be a supporting member.
    Quality outweighs quantity every time.

Do they have to know anything about computers?

(edit: come to think of it, do they have to know anything about Kenpo too?)
There are things that are worth knowing for their own sake, worth finding for the pure joy of discovery.

Computer knowledge, sorta. We expect staff to know how the vBulletin software works so that they can help newer members out, and do their duties. I don't expect anyone to be a web wizard, or server guru though.

As to kenpo, an enthusiasm for the art, and an open mind (empty cup) I believe should suffice. I'm not looking for 70 yr 23rd degree folks. A basic understanding of your art though should suffice. I believe that the current staff ranges from white (me) to multi-black.

Talking Re: Ever think about being a moderator?

Particularly witty, informative, thought-provoking and frequently amusing?

(Well....at least my mother describes me as such)

    Alright...so I'm reaching.

    Reasonable grasp of grammar?

There surely must be some bonus points for longest Run-on-Sentences?

    Maybe a handicap, because I'm errrr....venerable?

(How many posts was this?) lol

Alright...I'll be chaining myself to the keyboard for the forseeable future. Anyone happen ta have the number for Domino's Pizza handy? I can't afford to lose precious posting time on trivial things like eating. Do you know if it's advisable to mainline coffee ? Anyone? I'd hate to think I am wasting time on superfluous activities like sleeping when I could be posting.

I've found that RedBull (or similar) and Espresso are good to have around. Remember, buying in bulk can mean a cheaper per unit cost.

I think "thedan" would make a good moderator and he meets all of the required criteria.

I'm thinkin' it might be fun to do... So, I'll toss my ring in the hat ... er ... hat in the ring. But, if accepted and it meant that Russ wouldn't get a chance, then I'd only do it until he finally figures out how to type without mumbling.

If anyone is interested, I would be happy to provide some of my background ... Offline, as it were. If not interested, I'm certainly not offended. Just let me know.

OOOOOpppsss!!!! Never mind. I got jiggly in my hed 'n I misunderstood. I only have 60-something posts here on KenpoTalk. It appears that I have been spending most of my time over on Martial Talk. My bad...

Somehow a week wouldn't surprise me. And I don't think you will run out of your share of opinions and thoughts anytime soon. Keep 'em coming. I am definitely enjoying them.

We could still use one or twom more staff members.

I fotgot to mention that there was another criteria above the 500, 6 months as an active member is also pretty important. We have seen many people get a few hundred posts quickly and then burn out.

You can sign me up if you like. I'm opinionated it's true, but I am also fair I think.
