    Default KenpoTalk - Year 1 - What a Rush!

KenpoTalk.com went live in February 2005.

At the time, many said it would fail. That it was redundant, as MartialTalk and KenpoNet held the high ground. It was said that our idea was weak, that we wouldn't last. Last fall, even my own belief in our ability to make it was at risk.

A year later, and we are going strong, and getting stronger.

In our first year, we moved over 18 Gigabytes of data, 665,000+ pages of information and served over 65,000 visitors.

In the last 11 days, we have averaged 140+ posts and 10 new topics per day.

Comparing KenpoTalk to it's peers and competition shows an equally interesting picture.

    Board Comparison:

MartialTalk: 2,718 Topics and 64,659 posts in Kenpo
KenpoTalk: 1,374 Topics and 12,508 Posts total.
Kenponet: 43 pages of messages, with about 5,160 posts.
Martial Arts Planet: 200 topics and 2,665 posts
    KenpoThoughts: 269 Topics 1,506 Posts
Budoseek: 36 Topics, 442 Posts TOTAL

    Those are TOTAL counts.

    Between 1/1/2006 and 2/11/2006
MartialTalk had 1,360 Total Posts and 55 Total Threads in the Kenpo section.
KenpoTalk in that same time period did 3,886 Posts and 469 Threads!

In it's first year, KenpoTalk has surpassed not only it's parent, but other, more established sites as being the Internet's leading Kenpo Discussion Forum.

Now, obviously, MartialTalk still has alot more posts than we do, and KenpoNet is still an excellent resource site for history and articles.

But our plan for year 2 is to exceed both of these excellent sites in what they offer to the Kenpo community.

Thank you everyone, for making us the #1 kenpo discussion site in our first year.

It's been a heck of a lot of fun getting here....and Year 2 is going to be even more fun as we aim to become the #1 Kenpo resource and discussion site!

    Thank you!

    All of the KenpoTalk Staff

Bob has made this place possible, the staff keeps it clean, and safe, but it is you the members who really make it work.

When Bob and I were discussing launching this site, one of our concerns was revenue. We have a few supporting members, but that really doesn't cover costs. If you enjoy Kenpo Talk, please consider sponsoring a forum.

Just because you do something one way, does not mean that everyone else does it that way, or that it is even the correct way.

For those that did not know it. Hosted Forums can also have branding on them for a very small fee. Your logo beside the the name of your area will severely increase the traffic to that area.
