Default New Forum: Members in Motion

We've added a new forum: Members in Motion.

This is the place to share those video clips of you doing techniques, forms, demos, etc.

Anyone can post a link to an off-site clip, however, due to the rapid use of server space, uploading of video clips is limited to Supporting Members.

    (MT's MinM forum's eating up 500 megs...thats alot of pizza, y'know?)

You're doing better than me right now. LOL. My attempt failed miserably. I'm gonna have to hook up with some of my computer geek buddies for some help. TBH, I'm pretty ignart (that's Southern for ignorant) when it comes to most of this "internet" stuff. LOL

Super Ditto. I've spent the last hour or more trying to figure out how to put my DVD onto the site. I ripped it, but now it's raw. I downloaded something to convert it and it just looked at me.

I"ve got a really cool DVD (that's not perfect, but hey, neither am I) that I'd love to share of lots of katas, but I can't figure it out.

    Ugh

Anyday now Amy is going to upload those clips. I can feel it. In the meantime she's going to make us all wait patiently.... which she knows I unfortunately have loads of patience... but it's wearing thin.

    Post those clips WOMAN!

I have an 8mm of myself doing forms from short 1 - 6. Also all yellow, orange, and purple techniques from various angles. How could I go and convert an 8mm from my video camera to my pc and uploaded to here ? Sounds too much like work to me.

Can a video taken from a digital camera be posted on here? I've used that in the past on my media player but will it be compatible with quick time?

I have converted them, but now they're too big and need to be compressed. Any suggestions?

Oh, I also would be able to post some clips from the Vegas 2004 test. If I can figure out how to clip and trim, that is. I managed to do two techniques or so before I got my knee sat on. After that, I was pretty much out.

Here's a link to some compression software:
    http://www.download.com/Ashampoo-Mov...ml?tag=lst-0-6

It has a 30-day trial. Also if you goto download.com and just do a search on video compression, you will find some other shareware/freeware.

You might be avle to find something low cost or free here: http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/S...eo_editor.html

    This sounds promising: http://softwaredepo.com/video_editer.html

    No guarentees.

I use either Adobe Premier (pricy) or Sony Vegas Movie Studio (about $30 at CompUSA) when doing mine.

I am compressing as we speak. If it works, I'll be able to do a bunch of different clips from my dvd and from the camp video. This is so exciting. (I'm a goob)

I love learning how to do something new.

how long is the actual video?
you can probably use a program like virtualdub (its free and open source) to turn your one long video into separate chunks......i believe the one caveat is simply changing the file extension to .avi.(if you used the divx converter i mean)
i will try one out and let you know if it works.
