    Default Ed Parker on Youtube

I'm sure everyone has heard of youtube, but just in case I thought it would be great to point out.

There are 8 video clips from a Parker Seminar amounting to about 75minutes of teaching from Parker himself. If you go to

    www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=kenpojitsu3

you will them. No idea who kenpojitsu3 is but a big thanks goes out for the awesome material. Might be a friend of Seabrook?

Yes, 3 cheers for James Hawkins III !

Long Live James Hawkins III !

I ran across these gems after he first posted them, but was reticent to tell many folk about their existance for fear they'd dissapear.

The Karate Connection Web Site has recently posted some other great vintage footage.

Salute to Mr Sullivan and Mr LeRoux for making these availible, too.

(I have some old International footage I'll transfer from 8mm to video sometime and share)

Funny, I have been to his site more than a few times. He's got some great articles under "downloads". I quoted the "Masters Kenpo Workbook" in the Master Key Movements thread.

So is he a freind of Seabrook's: He also posted some footage of Jamie on youtube.

I have the video tape that those 8 clips were ripped from, it was a series of Seminar at Douglas McLeods school, back in the 80's. A lot of really great stuff in the 3 different seminars shot there.

Cool! I really envy those that had the opportunity to trainin any capacity with SGM Parker.

Perhaps the most amazing aspect of working with SGM Parker was the way he involved everyone on such an intimate, personal level. Even at seminars, he gave you the impression, that he was speaking directly to you, no matter how many bodies were present.

Of course, his charismatic manner and the often ingenious methods of relaying concepts, in a simple, understandable and memorable manner, without appearing to talk down to anyone was also pretty amazing to witness.

Another thing that never ceased to amaze me, was the obvious joy and passion and confidence he manifested. No matter how many times he relayed the same stories or lessons, he always made it seem as if it was the very first time. The playful twinkle in his eye and warm smile, acted to disarm you, just before he blazed through a technique at near impossible seeming speeds, (for someone his size and build particularly) and the breathtaking control as he delivered eyerakes close enough to wisk contacts out, while the smile never left his face. It was apparent that he truly enjoyed what he did.
