I'm told the videos got some praise on Facebook. I guess it's all a matter of perspective, and why such incompetence continues in spite of the fact there are so many people that could actually help them. But, you gotta admit your problem before you can begin to fix them. They think they're fine. God bless them. My Mother used to say, "Hey, if you like it, than I love it."

In any given topic, there are few truly knowledgable people and everyone else knows just enough to misunderstand it, or nothing at all. When your audience is the ignorant, it doesn't matter how bad you are. They still love it, still think it's all great.

But imagine how tragic it would be if there was nothing to spiral down from? I think the flip side is there's still something to aspire to for those who are willing to seek it out.
Be careful what you say, some may take it the wrong way.

Yes sir that is true. I remember at the first Internationals in 64', Mr. Parker invited the well known martial arts fraud Bruce Tegner. Mr. Parker took heat from everyone because of the invite. Mr Parker responded by saying, "This guy has written more books on the martial arts than anyone, and in the eyes of the general public he is legit. So how is anyone going to know what is real if they don't have anything to compare it to?"

Unfortunately the commercial boom of the arts has grown so that the dysfunctional now greatly outnumber the legitimately functional, so as far as the masses are concerned the commercial art is THE art, unless they stumble upon someone who can show them different. I've received several inquiries that all asked the same thing, "What's wrong with the videos? They look fine to me." And that my friend is the problem.

My Grandmother was found of quoting Benjamin Franklin. She said, "Do not mistake motion for action." Just because you moved things around doesn't mean you cleaned up. Seems quite appropriate. She also said, "Just because you go to church doesn't anymore make you a Christian, than spending the night in the garage makes you a car."

You can put on the uniform and the belt and go through the motions, but that doesn't make you a martial artist. I just didn't foresee it getting this bad in my lifetime.

So, did I. He was the only one that had any accessible books, and he wrote on just about every style. Hey we go with what we can get our hands on.
