Not a big fan of competitive sparring but I must say I liked this. Something I would watch in the Olympics, if it were there.

God gave us 2 ears and 1 mouth so we can listen twice as much as we speak.
Unfortunantly, he gave us 2 eyes and 10 fingers, which explains the problems we get on the internet.~Zoran

Quite a number of years ago, Cung Le in an interview for a MA magazine said that he trained in China with some San Shou guys. He said that they were members of PRC Army and that they were very good. He also said that they were exceptional at leg trapping and catching kicks.
Great stuff! San Shou is the same rule set as the Lei Tai competition our fighters fight in.
Be careful what you say, some may take it the wrong way.

Pretty much kickboxing with sweeps and takedowns. I like it.

As always, "it depends".
San Shou is the combat applications of the TCMAs, so you will actually see some differences based on style and what type of competition it is. So you will see some examples like this that look like kickboxing with sweeps, throws and takedowns or other examples where it looks more like we envision kung fu to be. There is also a military version of SanShou/SanDa that is out there, which is obviously different in some regards and it's sparring is different as well.

That really looks like fun. Thanks for posting it Zoran.
