oops I just linked this video in the other thread. While I've been told his performance froma strictly karate-do perspective is flawed, from my kempo perspective he is pretty impressive! This video showed me where my system came from.

Nick Cerio's Kenpo Basic Self-Defense Techniques. For those who would like to view or review the Great Master's unique system. It was recorded from an old (end of eighties or beginning of nineties) VHS recording. Please excuse the "old texture" of this video. But I think it is a great legacy of martial arts. You can also watch Volume 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MJF6jsBW3U and Volume 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VebUG6_l0QU.

David, your post is about 3 years old. How do you see that video now?
God gave us 2 ears and 1 mouth so we can listen twice as much as we speak.
Unfortunantly, he gave us 2 eyes and 10 fingers, which explains the problems we get on the internet.~Zoran

    Default Nick Cerio's Kenpo

Thank you for posting these videos. I think it's important to capture whatever we can about our various roots.
Be careful what you say, some may take it the wrong way.

Thank you for posting. I live and train in New England, and we have quite a bit of the Cerio lineage throughout the area, I think. I have never visited a Cerio school, and only occasionally met a Cerio student. I have yet to (knowingly) work on the mat with one.

The young Nick Cerio was a very impressive athlete, but he obviously didn't give a crap about stances LOL

He can do some cool techniques, but his teaching is strictly "do what I do" - very little technical depth.

I'm not just going by these links. I have all of the "Kempo Hands" tapes and have watched them extensively, since the kempo I used to do was closely modeled after NCK. He just wasn't a super-technical guy, just a very tough bad-ass.

I have those tapes on DVD. He was one of those old badasses, no doubt.
