The takedown. I believe that it is vital and does an excellent job of showing the student the difference between a "hard" takedown and a "soft" takedown.

In Drawbridge, we locked our leg into the back of the knee, a "soft" takedown going with the joint. Then, 8 techniques later, here we are executing a very similar takedown to a different angle of the knee, a "hard takedown." The immediate question is, "Wow, what if I did to the knee what we do to the elbow in Kung Fu Wrist?"

It is another example of what some criticize as redundancy being used to expose the student to perspectives that he may not have come up with on his own.

Excellent choice Rob. This technique is "funky looking" and the lessons are easily overlooked.

Kind of a scarey technique that requires watching when taught. Students have a tendency to go all amok with the sliding foot. I think it is a cool technique, however.
