Hi,
Anyone have a direct link to the instructions for building an Ultraman-style training dummy? I've seen numerous references to these plans being available on the Karate Connection web site, but I can't seem to find them. I find mention of the idea of building your own, just no plans.
Thanks,
jds

For some strange reason, while I can hit that link, the only image that works is the first one...all of the images that accompany the construction details are broken. At least for me!
There is also a link I found on another page that appears to be intended to point to the article you sent, but its broken too. Maybe I should just email their webmaster and he can get it straightened out...
Thanks,
jds

I couldn't pull that up by ckicking on the link either, but I could pull up the full article and plans by going to the karate connection website and clicking on newsletters, then clicking on the 1996 1st quarter artcile "Hey Dummy". Hope that works for you.
The instructions for how to build your own dummy are fairly detailed on the Orange belt tape.

I have seen a plan for a home-made dummy that has arms, legs, hands, you name it, but I forgot to save the link. Now I can not find it again! DANG IT!

The plans from the orange belt tape have been upgraded because the original design was not very sturdy. The hips broke regularly. The design on the website has worked very well. I'm 240lbs and mine has taken almost daily beatings for months and has held up very well. BTW, if you want to add arms to your dummy, for practice in targeting your blocks, you can get heavy duty aluminum electrical wire from Home Depot and strap that across the back of the shoulders before adding your padding. I even added a heavy wire leg that comes around from the back.

Sorry, I haven't been on the website for a few days. I will try to figure out how to post those pictures.
