Laugh Out Loud Funny.
I heard a story last night about someone who missed the point of her training.
Someone attacked her, she fought him off, knocked him down, then instinctively helped her 'partner' up again.
Big surprise.....he attacked her again!

I think I read or heard of a story like that with a police officer (may have been FBI) and a gun disarm.
Disarms the badguy then hands the gun back to him.
Under stress, you have a tendency to revert to your training. Officers have been shot while picking up their brass- just like they were on the range instead of in a gunfight.
The new school in town here is run by an ex cop. If you try to help your partner up, he puts you down. Same with stoping a technique. Whether it worked or not, you don't stop till the attacker is finished off. That's why.

There are things that are worth knowing for their own sake, worth finding for the pure joy of discovery.
Isn't there a saying? "You will perform in the street the way you train in the dojo." ....or something to that effect.
