In all honesty that is scary; those women probably think after that they will be able to defend themselves.

My sister was involved in a group where they did some of that.

I think that was to get women past the idea that they 'shouldn't hit'.

Or it was some exercising of demons where they imagine that it's something they hate about themselves or someone who hurt them or whatever.

I guess it has merit, but not for actual self-defense.

What you said right there is what gets me. I always see things like this passed off as "Self Defense". I feel it's almost false advertising.

We can judge it flatly as weak, but at the very very least they are teaching them to do something. If they were cupping their hands and slapping their attackers in the ears.... that could be quite crippling. I sure as hell hope they graduated to some basic knee and elbow strikes.

What's scary is that there are so many individuals out there, who are not self reliant when it comes to defending themselves. I hope we can all get through life with out being threatened at some point, but what are the odds.

I feel like I just stepped back into grade school and am watching girls fighting on the playground. I really, sincerely hope that Amy is correct and this is just an exercise to get them past the "they shouldn't hit" plateau. If not then.......I.....uhmm....don't know what to say.

That was awkward to say the least. Shouldn't they have been practicing palm-heels and elbows or something?

I agree with you and Amy, sometimes it's a very hard thing to learn. We are conditioned all our lives to "be nice".
